Team Information
The Bellmont Rifle Team has been active for over 50 years at Bellmont High School in Decatur, IN. The program was started in 1961 by Charlie Abel. Charlie has been the main driving force of the team since day one, and he still comes up to help out occasionally to help out. Recently the team has been handed down to new leadership. The current head coach, Andrew Werling, has been in charge a few years now and continues to teach the ideals set in place by Coach Abel. The assistant coach is Danny Porter.
The team consists of 14 veteran shooters returning from past years that make up the varsity. The first year group is made up of about 15 shooters.
The Bellmont Rifle Team has won the Indiana State Rifle Match ten times since its creation: its most recent winnings being in 2007 & 2012. The team continues to fight for the number one position every year.

Range Information
The rifle range is located above the swimming pool at Bellmont High School. It consists of ten firing points able to stop air and .22 rounds. The range has enough air and small bore rifles to provide for all shooters.
